How To Visit Banff Area-Local Tips

This is the main page where you can find tips and how-to’s about Banff and the surrounding areas of the Banff National Park.

Welcome To Banff National Park - Howdy :)!

If you are heading over to visit the Canadian Rockies and have limited time for your stay, these tips below may help you streamline your plans.

For some, having no plans at all and being “spontaneous” makes for a flexible trip. Maybe all you want is to have a general idea, some good information and … you are on the way.

Maybe you need little “insider” information about Banff hotels and accommodations in town. How about main events of the year – like the Banff Film Festival in the Banff Center?

Many folks who come to see this natural beauty really feel lucky to have a rocky mountain wedding as a highlight of their lives together right here in Banff.

And of course, there are hiking trails and points of interests to visit – like the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel (the Castle in the Rockies), the Banff Gondola, Banff Upper Hot Springs, Johnston Canyon, Lake Minnewanka Boat Tours, Lake Louise area and much much more – as far as the eye can see. It’s really that vast around here with enough land to trek over … possibly for a few lifetimes.

How about skiing in the winter? The Sunshine Village and Lake Louise are world-famous as ski resorts in the Canadian Rockies. Want to stay in town and ski? Try Mount Norquay justĀ  a short drive up the hill towering above Banff town site.

And of course – golf! There’s a world-class golf course right next to the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. There are plenty more just a 20-minute drive east to Canmore. The greens are green and the sky is – well, depends on the weather. But on a “blue-bird” day – the sky is magically pure blue (just like on the picture postcards), eh?
